I'm not into the church scene, but I'm happy to attend church to take part in family events. Yesterday, my two youngest grandchildren, Ava and Eve, were baptised. It was a lovely day because all of my seven grandchildren were together. They were little angels in church, quiet and still, so when the service finished, they couldn't wait to run around the church yard and use up some energy - and the rain had disappeared for the occasion.
The two littlies were hot and bothered in their pretty white dresses, but they weren't any trouble either. By the time we left the church, all the children were hungry and tired. We all gathered at a restaurant for a delicious Chinese meal, with a chance to chat.

It was a busy, but thoroughly enjoyable day for me yesterday with my grandchildren. I asked to have Eve and Ava's sister, Trinity, and brother, Flynn for the morning, along with my three local grand-children, Madison, Zachari and Heath, to do some craft.
My daughter offered to stay to help, which was greatly appreciated as 5 active youngsters might have proved a bit of a challenge for me. I made a double batch of pancakes and the kids devoured them with jam and cream as quick as I could dish them out.
Then with full bellies, we set about making emus with paper plates, brown paper, pipe-cleaners and pom-poms. It was a fun exercise. After they paraded their emus around, they all created whatever they fancied with coloured paper, paste and pencils.
It was a fun morning for all, but after all the kids had left with their parents, I had a well-earned nap to replenish my energy for the afternoon Christening.
Spending time with my grand-children is special for me, and I try to impart some of my spirit and love of the simple things in life to them.
