[quote] “Your writing does indeed show who you are and how your experiences impinge on you, dear Gaye. You do have a happy knack of being able to step back and observe yourself and others in the midst of life’s events. That seems to be somewhat rare amongst humans. Most are unable to separate themselves from the turmoil, and/or are unable to summon the words to articulate that experience. So, do keep on writing. Your writing is fresh and from the heart, but sufficiently intellectual for there to be a message to take away from it; that is, for those who care to look into it.” [quote]
These are the words of a close friend who played a vital role in rescuing me from a very dark time in my life.
I like to write. By putting my thoughts and views into words, I can more fully evaluate how and why I react to life in a particular manner. This helps me understand myself and my journey.
At other times, my writing is simply a means of self-expression. Occasionally it is a creative outlet. It is usually therapeutic, and occasionally, it can be healing. Sometimes it is even a method of communicating when face-to-face words fail me. It can also be a means of problem-solving. And of course, my writing also allows me to record that which I might otherwise forget.
This blog space will basically be a place where I can publish my words, somewhat anonymously (except to those who know me), with little fear of retribution or judgement. My few valued friends, and my closest family, know me and accept me for the person I am. Most of my meandering and self-exploring here will be recognised by them as part of the complex and emotional person that I am. But we never completely know each other - there is always more to convey; always more to learn about each other and ourselves. Self-discovery is enlightening.
Perhaps there will be the occasional snippet that the wider public might find interesting. I hope so. Although some of the subjects that I approach here will be potentially sensitive, and even controversial, I will keep this site family-friendly.
I will include some of my photography along the way; images that I find appropriate to my mood at the time or the content of my post.

This is a start of yet another literary adventure by you, you indefatigable creature, Gaye.
You've made a good start!
Good luck!
hi Bill,
thank you for your encouragement. This is a project I have been wanting to start for ages, but have not been quite sure how to go about it. So it will probably evolve as I go with it, until I find my way with it.
Cheers
Gaye
